Love Hard: Worth or Worthless the watch?

Indifference, think of the feeling you get while eating a bowl of cornflakes, do you hate it? Not really. Are enjoying it? Meh… That’s how I’d pretty much sum up the feeling of watching this movie, it was like eating a bowl of plain cornflakes, it lacked the rush of coco pops and the vibrant flavour profile of fruit loops.

So here’s the gist of the story, a young woman meets her crush through an online dating app, she goes to surprise him by showing up at his house for Christmas but finds out she has been “cat fished” and in the end (stop me if you’ve heard this one before) surprise, the power of true love prevails and they end up happily ever after!

It’s basically what you would expect from a movie of its genre. A bland romance story with Christmassy things thrown in, why you ask? Because saccharine coated movie tropes like this sell.

Sure they try to keep up with the times, for example, they try to being inclusive by having an Asian male lead. However, that doesn’t really save this movie from mediocrity. Overall, I feel that it’s not worth spending 1 hour 45 minutes and 25 seconds watching something that you will forget only five minutes later.
