Stafford International School Triumphs in Swimming

At the Sri Lanka Novices Aquatic Championship – 2016, conducted by the School’s Aquatic Sports Association, Stafford students emerged victorious in many events.
Nisha Nilaweera, in the under 11 category, won much distinction, securing two first places overall, in 50 meters Breast Stroke, within 48.18 sec. and 50 meters Freestyle, in 36.34 sec. She also won the overall second place, in the Butterfly stroke ( 48.79 sec )
At the same competition, Rezah Maharoof in the under 13 category, won the overall 7th place in 50 meters Free Style, in 33.95 seconds.
Damithri Kariyawasam also displayed her prowess in the under 15 category, bagging the awards for the 1st and the 2nd places in 50 meters backstroke, in 42.05 seconds, and 50 meters Butterfly stroke ( 40.05 sec ) , respectively.
Stafford Girls’ team capped off all these aquatic achievements by securing the overall 6th place in team, ranking, in this championship wherein 24 schools participated.
